Following a recent resignation there is now a vacancy on Caistor Town Council which may be filled by co-option

Due to a resignation a vacancy has arisen for the position of Councillor on Caistor Town Council. Applications for the position are by way of completed application form which will be supplied by the town clerk. The closing date for applications is 5th June (there will be no exceptions). Co-option for the vacancy will be discussed at the meeting of the town council on 13th June 2024.  The meeting will be held at the town hall, starting at 6:45pm. Candidates will be invited to the meeting to make brief representations.
 
In order to qualify for the position you need to meet at lease one of the following conditions:
1. Registered as a local government elector for the Parish on the current Electoral Register
2. Has during the whole of the previous 12 months occupied as tenant or owner of any land or other premises in the Parish.
3. His/her principal or only place of work in the previous 12 months has been in the Parish
4. Has resided either in the Parish or within 4.8 kilometres (3 miles) thereof during the previous 12 months
 
There are some criminal and financial criteria which disqualify a person from standing for election or holding public office.  It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that they are not disqualified from applying.
