Caistor Town Council is looking for dedicated and hardworking person to join our team as Grounds maintenance/Handyperson to ensure the upkeep, safety, and presentation of public spaces, town council properties, and recreational areas including the cemetery, parks, buildings and allotments.
The job will involve:
• some mowing, strimming, hedge trimming, pruning, spraying;
• maintaining our play areas and equipment;
• building maintenance work;
• litter picking and sweeping.
The successful applicant will have:
• have previous experience of maintaining green spaces;
• experience of using petrol mowers and power tools;
• practical experience in several areas of maintenance such as basic joinery, painting, equipment maintenance and servicing;
• ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively;
• physical fitness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Full UK driving licence
This is a unique sector and a varied and interesting role, with significant interaction with members of the public and Councillors.
The job will involve attending an evening Estates Committee meeting several times a year.
